Exam Overview
The Ontario Real Estate Exam is a critical component for individuals aiming to become licensed real estate professionals in Ontario.
Exam Format
There are a total of six exams in the Pre-Registration Phase:

Four exams are associated with Courses 1-4
-
Two additional exams follow each simulation session
-
All exams are multiple-choice with only one correct answer per question.

Course 1: Real Estate Essentials
- Introduction to real estate basics.- Covers the role of a salesperson under the Real Estate and Business Brokers Act, 2002 (REBBA).- Includes understanding obligations and the Code of Ethics. -
Course 2: Residential Real Estate Transactions
- Details the process of listing, selling, and completing residential transactions.- Topics include seller and buyer services, property attributes, marketing, and purchase agreements. -
Course 3: Additional Residential Real Estate Transactions
Expands on residential transactions to include condos, new builds, rural properties, multi-family dwellings, and leasing. -
Simulation Session #1: Residential Real Estate Transactions
- A 5-day session practicing residential transaction tasks with a professional coach.- Covers various property types like single-family homes and condos. -
Course 4: Commercial Real Estate Transactions
- Focuses on listing, selling, and leasing commercial properties like offices, retail spaces, and industrial sites.- Covers commercial construction and transaction requirements. -
Simulation Session #2: Commercial Real Estate Transactions
- A 4-day session focusing on commercial transactions with a coach.- Emphasizes aspects unique to commercial properties such as industrial and retail spaces.
Passing Requirements

You must achieve a minimum score of 75% on each exam.

The maximum completion timeframe for each of the first four courses (including the exam) is 21 weeks.
03
Course 5 has a maximum completion timeframe of 4 weeks.
Exam Results
After completing each exam:

Online exam results are generally available within 24-48 hours.

Students have two additional attempts to pass if they fail an exam.

There is a mandatory 7-day waiting period between exam attempts.
